These are helpful website for researching your ancestry lines and finding other information such as military or burial records.
- Archives.com – Find online records
- Wlkipedia List of Battles – List of battles 1301–1600
- Vital Statistics: Births, Marriages and Deaths (Canada) – Library and Archives Canada
- Ancestry.ca – For several years I researched information on Ancestry.ca website. The paid accounts tend to render more results plus files and images. Most of the information I obtained came from Ancestry.ca.
- Family Search.org – For some searching, I have used the FamilySearch.org website (which is done by the Mormon’s). From what I have read, FamilySearch is the largest family tree database in the world (their words). You must be a member there in order to view their site. But membership is absolutely free. If you decide to join their website, let me know and I can send you a link to our tree on there. Please keep in mind that this is a shared website whereas the family tree that you make can be altered by other members. This could be good, but it also can undo any actual facts that you enter.
- Wiki Tree – “Where genealogists collaborate”. A free family tree great for doing research. Another website I occasionally used to collect information is Wiki Tree. Same, keep in mind that this is a shared website whereas the family tree that you make can be altered by other members. This could be good, but it also can undo any actual facts that you enter.
- Find a Grave – Locate a grave of someone you are researching.
- Fold3.com – Fold3 is for historical military facts and records.
- Newspapers.com – Clip articles, obituaries, photos, and more.
- BC Birth, adoption, death, divorce – Search database for British Columbia records.
- Alberta marriage index – Look up marriage records for Albertan ancestors.
